Bed and breakfast Ascoli Piceno

The province of Ascoli Piceno is in the South of the Marche region and is on the Adriatic Sea. This province follows the course of the Tronto river as far as it extends from the coast to Forca Canapine, up in the Apennines near the Umbrian border. This area, right in the heart of Italy, has some beautiful monuments and a long history as it was once inhabited by the Piceni people. Ascoli has a historic center that is made entirely from travertine stone and the ancient towns and medieval villages of Offida, Montalto, Acquasanta Terme and Arquata del Tronto are all well worth a visit. Visitors looking instead for a nature holiday can visit the mountains and beautiful woods. The Baptistery and St. John’s Cathedral in Ascoli Piceno together with the Church of St. Agustine of Montalto delle Marche are considered national treasures. Visitors to this province have a wide choice of things to do from the beach to the mountains, the hills, the nature walks or food tasting (the ascolane olives are very famous here). On the coast the most beautiful areas are the Riviera delle Palme, Cupra Marittima, Grottammare and the splendid city of San Benedetto del Tronto with its golden sandy beaches, lovely promenade and the delicious fish stew made here.
