Bed and breakfast Belluno

Belluno The province of Belluno has over 200,000 inhabitants and has a very mountainous terrain. There are many rivers in the province (the largest being the Piave river) which is dominated by the Dolomites. The Belluna Valley is in the South of the province which is home to the National Park of the Bellunesi Dolomites. The local economy used to be based on agriculture but today the province is one of the largest producers of prescription glasses and eye-wear in North-East Italy. Tourism is also important for the local economy: Cortina d’Ampezzo is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Italy. Other important destinations are Feltre, with its Cathedral, its sixteenth-century fountain by the sculptor Pietro Lombardo and Renaissance palaces; Mel, a picturesque town home to the famous Zumelle Castle; Ponte delle Alpi with the nearby Consiglio forest and Santa Croce lake; Sedico, a lovely town in the countryside.
