Bed and breakfast Cremona
The province of Cremona is in Lombardy and borders the region of Emilia-Romagna. It has around 350,000 inhabitants in 115 municipalities. The largest cities and towns are: Cremona, Crema, Casalmaggiore, Castellone, Soresina, Pandino, Soncino, Rovolta d’Adda, and Pizzighettone. The local economy is based on agriculture (growing wheat, beet and corn), on industry (the largest industries being food, engineering and energy), on craftsmanship (especially the production of string instruments and traditional sweets) and also on tourism. Sites of historic and cultural interest include the Cremona Cathedral which is dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption. Originally built in Romanesque style, the exterior has undergone many alterations over the centuries; however, the interior of the Cathedral still houses some truly magnificent frescoes. Other sites of interest are the Torrazzo, an ancient bell tower in bricks, in Cremona, the Crema Cathedral, the Casalmaggiore Cathedral, the Viscount Fortress in Pandino and the ancient walled cities of Pizzighettone, Crema and Soncino. There are also many protected areas in the province, such as the Regional Park of Serio, the Regional Park of South Adda, the Tormo River Park, the Ariadello and Navigli Valley Park, the Regional Reserve of the Marisca Wood and the Natural Monument Bodrio delle Gerre.
