Bed and breakfast Padua
The province of Padua, or Padova in Italian, is the most populated province in Italy with over 900,000 inhabitants. The province’s terrain is largely flat and includes the Euganei Natural Springs, the Euganei Hills, small volcanic mounts and a small part of the Venetian Lagoon. The largest towns are Padua, Cittadella, Abano Terme, Albignasego, and Este. The city of Padua is home to many important works of art including the Basilica of St. Anthony, one of the most visited churches in Italy, the Romanesque Baptistery (XII century)and the Scrovegni Chapel with its beautiful frescoes by Giotto. Cittadella has the remains of its medieval city walls and many monuments to visit including the Tower of Malta and the ancient parish church of St. Donatus. Abano Terme, located in the Euganei hills, is a popular destination for its natural hot springs. Other sites to visit are the 18th century Cathedral of St. Lawrence and the many beautiful Renaissance villas in the province. Albignasego is an ancient Roman town with many beautiful buildings and the 16th century villa of St. Boniface. Este, the Venetians choice of holiday destination for centuries, is home to the National Museum housing ancient Roman and even pre-Roman remains, medieval art works and some modern paintings.
