Bed and breakfast Perugia

Perugia The province of Perugia is the largest province in Umbria covering nearly all of the region. Part of the province is on Lake Trasimeno and its terrain is mountainous and includes part of the Tevere Valley. Assisi, in the province of Perugia was the birthplace of Italy’s patron Saint, St. Francis of Assisi. Today visitors can follow the Franciscan Path of Peace, the exact path that St. Francis himself took many times starting in 1206, when he travelled from Assisi to Gubbio, after having given up all his worldly goods left to him by his father Pietro di Bernardone, a wealthy textile merchant. There are many other places to visit besides Assisi and Gubbio, such as Deruta, famous for its beautiful ceramics and characteristic narrow streets, the thirteenth-century monastery of Perugia which also houses a college offering cooking courses and the Trevi Flash Art Museum. The Parks of Mount Cucco, Mount Subasio and Mount Colfiorito offer visitors a range of excursions and the opportunity to try many different sports, go potholing or even take survival courses.
