Bed and breakfast Prato
The province of Prato is situated between the Bisenzio valley and the Mountain of Caldana. Prato is a medieval city with a beautiful historic center which is still encircled by its old city walls dating back to the fourteenth century. Monuments to visit in the city are Piazza del Comune, the Town Hall, which houses the Cloth Museum, the Pretorio Palace and the Basilica of St. Stephen situated in Piazza Duomo. Artimino is an ancient town where you can still see the remains of an Etruscan settlement. Poggio Caiano has a beautiful Medicean villa from the 15th century, Villa Ambra. Bacchereto is famous for its ceramics and the town of Cantagallo is home to the Cerbaia Castle and the Nature Reserve of Acquerino Cantagallo. Lots of the typical dishes from this province are made using celery, as in the recipe of boiled celery with chicken liver. Other typical dishes include various beef dishes, fried spices and eggs with meat and tomato sauce. Finocchiona and Mortadella are famous salamis from the area. A typical dessert is Cantuccini with Vin Santo.
