The province of Reggio Emilia borders with the regions of Lombardy and Tuscany and is made up of 45 municipalities with a total population of 490,000. The largest towns and cities in the province are Reggio Emilia, Scandiano, Correggio, Casalgrande and Guastalla. The famous parmesan cheese "Pamigiano Reggiano" is produced throughout this province, whilst the towns of Casalgrande, Castellarano and Scandiano are known for their ceramics. There are also many farms and small to medium size business in the area. A visit to Reggio Emilia must include a trip to the Cathedral and the Church of Saint Prosper of Reggio. There are many other monuments to see in the area for example, the Ducal Palace, the Municipal Theater, the Ariosto Theater and the Cavallerizza Theater , the Parmeggiani Gallery in Reggio Emilia and the statue on the top of Mount Evangelo in Scandiano. In Correggio you can visit the church of Saint Quirinus and the Archives of Correggio, the Civic Museum, the Asioli Theater, the monument to Ferrante Gonzaga, the Maldotti Library, the Civic Theater and the octagonal Oratory of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Guastalla.
